Peripheral visual phenomena – that’s what the shimmering, pressed-flat sweet papers are, together with all the other shiny pavement findings which have an aesthetic all their own. Accompanied by squashed, colourful flowers, which recall classical floral motifs. Unusual and photorealistic motifs are selected with a imaginative view and arranged on ceramic as background for food.

Estelle Gassmann studied Textile Design at the Art and Design School of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Since 2006 she has been working as an independent textile and product designer in Zurich, as well as pursuing her own individual research as an artist.
Her objects and products are designed from disparate starting materials and developed by means of elaborate processes. Each object is orchestrated as an aesthetic counterpoint to its functional character, which is thus given a totally new and unusual dimension.
